The Laboratory of Podiatric Pathology in Philadelphia, first formed
in 1978 as a diagnostic and research service of the Pennsylvania College of
Podiatric Medicine, now provides unique diagnostic podiatric pathology services
throughout the nation. Harvey Lemont DPM, a podiatric pathologist,
whose special training includes a fellowship in dermatopathology and graduate training
in bone and joint pathology, directs the Laboratory. With expertise in
clinical skin and soft tissue disease, as well as 20 years experience in
interpreting pathology slides, Dr. Lemont is in a unique position to correlate
the clinical with the pathologic thereby providing a more meaningful path report
to the practicing podiatrist. Diagnosis of such lesions as
Heloma Neurofibrosum, Heloma Vasculare vs. Talon noir, traumatic vs.
mechanically induced keratoses are routinely provided to the practicing
podiatric physician. The lab also provides services from both general
pathologists and mycologists uniquely trained in foot disease.
Dr. Lemont is Professor of Immunology and Pathology at the
Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine and Chairman of its
Department of Medicine. Formerly he was Director of the Section
of Experimental Foot Pathology at the Health Sciences Center at
Stony Brook as well as Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the
New York Medical College and Hahnemann Medical School in
Philadelphia. Dr. Lemont is a member of the Pennsylvania Association
of Pathologists and American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Medicare and Interstate Commerce (CLIA)
